THE AWAKENING OF MARMOTS

Sun, Nature, Hiking: this is Passo Rolle in summer

Starting from the Hotel Vezzana, there is the possibility of unique excursions for those who love trekking: the forest of Paneveggio, Lagorai, the lakes of Colbricon, Val Venegia, Baita Segantini and Cristo Pensante.

Trekking of the Thinking Christ on Mount Castellaz from Passo Rolle to Baita Segantini and tour of the mountain pastures.

These are easy but beautiful half-day excursions in the area of Passo Rolle starting directly from our hotel to discover breathtaking views of the most beautiful in the Dolomites. With the trekking of the Thinking Christ you can reach an extraordinary panoramic balcony on which has been placed the suggestive Statue of the Thinking Christ, with a view on the iconic peaks of the northern chain of the Pale di San Martino. The absolute protagonist is the unmistakable Cimon della Pala, the Matterhorn of the Dolomites that can be admired in all its majesty. The trekking is arranged with departure from the Baita Segantini, a place which can also be accessed by a ‘shuttle bus’ from Passo Rolle.

Tour of the Cavallazza with a visit to the trenches of the Great War and the lakes of Colbricon

We start directly from our hotel for this trekking of medium difficulty, 4 hours of duration and about 7 km to cover, which allows us a suggestive excursion to discover the Lagorai chain, reaching Cima della Cavallazza and the lakes of Colbricon below. The hike itself is not very demanding but it still has a total difference in height of about 500 meters with a breathtaking view: a real balcony on the Pale di San Martino. This route also offers a historical reference to the Great War, with the possibility of accessing, especially in the Small Horse, trenches, tunnels and war posts that dominated the road of the Rolle Pass. At the lakes of Colbricon, moreover, traces of ancient human settlements have been found, including camps of hunters, dating back to the Neolithic period. The use of the Paradiso chairlift certainly reduces the effort of the ascent, leaving the pleasure of the excursion unaltered. And for those who still want to walk, you can go as far as the beautiful spruce forest of Paneveggio!

“Sentiero dei Finanzieri”: from Strada Fosse to the Altopiano delle Pale di San Martino climbing on foot or by cable car to Rosetta

This very scenic route develops mainly along the coast, under the Pale di San Martino, to arrive then through a challenging climb directly to the Rifugio Rosetta on the beautiful Altopiano delle Pale, the largest of all the Dolomites. You can leave directly from our hotel to Malga Fosse di Sopra (1936m), where trail 712, called “Sentiero dei Finanzieri“, starts. Along the way there are two crossroads: the first with path 706 leading to the Ferrata Bolver-Lugli, the second that goes to Col Verde, number 701, where, for those who do not want to tackle the most challenging stretch, you can climb directly through a cable car. After the second crossroads begins the actual climb to the plateau. The first piece is slightly exposed and equipped with metal cords and parapets and the second is developed on a sort of inclined plane in rock, where there are many bends. When you get to the top, the show is really exciting! The return journey is for the same route.

CLIMBING WALL

A natural climbing wall just behind the hotel

The walls of the Dolomites in which we are immersed are a true paradise for climbers and climbers thanks to the ferrata and climbing of different degrees of difficulty in which you can try.

And 50 meters from our hotel you can train yourself, alone or with the support of specialized mountain guides, in a natural rock gym that everyone envies us!

E-BIKE

Up and down the mountains by e-bike or MTB

Who said that the mountain is ideal only for lovers of mountain biking? For our guests can also rent electric bicycles at the hotel (free for weekly stays) to discover the surrounding area in fluency!
